akhanda yoga
"The 7 weeks I spent living in an ashram studying hatha yoga with Yogrishi Vishveketu and his team of international teachers was, by far, the best growth opportunity I've ever given myself. The personal transformation was vast, and witnessing the growth in fellow students was incredibly inspiring and deeply humbling. To experience daily yoga practice in a traditional model, integrated with healing rituals and celebrations was a true gift and awakening for my spiritual self. As a collective species, we are living in a time of radical disconnection from our higher consciousness. Many lives of our fellow humans, animals and medicinal plants are at risk due to this widespread sense of separation. 'Yog' (yoga) literally means 'to unite' or 'union'. Yoga practice offers a practice to integrate ourselves, so that all aspects of our lives may align with this truth of unity with the world around us. Akhanda yoga and the immersion into Indian culture offers Westerners a beautiful new lens through which to experience life. Akhanda means 'whole' and is an authentic and balanced approach to sadhana (spiritual practice) and it is our privilege to bring teachings back from the East." - Sheila
